The Phoenix - Sense has prevailed.
I have just recieved this response from the Phoenix Head of Stats, my score will stand as the current record for .303" 800,900 and 1000 yd aggregate.
"Adam,
John Robinson passed on your query about the establishment of a new record for the .303 800/900/1000 yards. Given the unusual circumstances of this year's 800/900/1000 yard events, the Phoenix Committee discussed this at our "washup" meeting last Thursday. You will be pleased to hear that we all agreed your score from this year should stand as the new record! This will, of course, appear in next year's Phoenix Booklet.
Unfortunately there was an error in this year's booklet which may confuse things. It said that Vs counted as 6 in all the long range events. This isn't actually true - Vs are 5s EXCEPT in the F Class 400/500/600 and 800/900/1000 and in the McQueen. This means your new record score will be shown as 192 10V, not 202 10V as you might have thought. This is the same scoring system as was used when David Shepperd set the previous record of 174 4V in 2004. Congratulations on surpassing his record by such a large margin!
We look forward to seeing you at Phoenix again next year to defend this new record.
All the best,
Charles Murton
