I will let him tell the story of how he put out a Argentine squad.
Now me I just was behind the lines in a little place called Iraq supporting the combat soldiers and airmen, by no means a combat veteran.

Since the 3 Commando Brigade landed on May 21st and Argentina surrendered on June 14th, that makes for a pretty short war, 24 days.
Were you part of 40 Commando, 45 Commando or 42 Commando that was held in reserve and stayed on the cruise ship, SS Canberra.

1. Did you mean embarrass or embrace?
2. Why would you being a Royal Marine embarrass any of us? Many of the members here served honorably in the military, quite a few with a hell of a lot more combat experience than your 3 weeks. The mere fact that you had 30 weeks (slow learners?) of commando training doesn't exactly inspire awe in the rest of us. You have every right to be proud of your unit and training, but don't expect us to be as impressed as you obviously are.

I think Iraq is a lot like Viet Nam was, there are no lines and everyone is a potential enemy. So in my opinion, everyone there is in combat.

In basic training, every time someone called their M-14 a gun, we all had to double-time with our rifles held over our heads chanting the exact thing that oneshooter has in his signature. "This is my rifle This is my gun..............."
Sure wish I had that M-14 now.

In the US military I think you got a good conduct medal for eating what the mess hall served.
