Re: User Experiences with Empire Gun Sight?
Folks (but esp. those in the U.K.),
What can anyone tell me about Peter Frost’s Empire Gun Sight Co., from whom I have never previously bought anything? It is profoundly unusual for me to find something cheaper in the U.K. than in the U.S., but it seems to have happened in this instance.
However, his web site does not have photos, and he has only approximately answered my questions about the item — all of which makes me nervous. Were I to buy the gun, the likelihood of my being able to do anything about it if it is not as described is virtually nil, so I’d like to get a user rating of this dealer before moving ahead. If users have had negative experiences, I’ll probably give it a miss. If everyone has nothing but praise, I’ll probably buy. My collecting future in is your hands!
If you don’t want to air your views publicly, good or bad, feel free to e-mail me at munro@intergroupservices.com.
Thanks, fellas,
Coggansfield

Re: User Experiences with Empire Gun Sight?
Well I’ve never actually bought anything from there although I have tried to on a couple of occasions without success.
My experience is that he advertises things that he doesn’t have and that which he does have is over priced and the condition is exaggerated in most cases.
That’s been my experience, my advice would be not to purchase if you are overseas. In the event that the piece turns out not to be what you’d envisaged then returning it could be costly.
Others might have had better luck with him so I’d see if anyone else posts.
Perhaps there might be a UK poster who could go and check the piece out for you if they live near Empire, he’s in Devon that’s 400 miles away from me so I can’t help. I will be at Bisley for the Historic Arms weekend of the Imperial so if he was coming to that I could have a peep for you and take some pictures for you.
Good luck.
