Interesting Observation

Post by Karl/Pa. » Sun Nov 03, 2013 10:48 am

Watching the "Life Below Zero" series filmed in Alaska, I noticed a preponderance of Mosin 91-30s used as every day guns for moose, caribou, bears, etc. One had the Russian sniper scope mounted on it. And no one observed using that awful safety. They would leave the chamber empty. All of them shot reloads.

The couple that do a lot of the hunting are over on Gunboards ( Caribou is there name if I remember correctly) and they like the rugged dependability of there Mosin's. The guys wife wrote an epic account of going into town to pick up her PU sniper she got from R-Guns, something like a 60 mile snowmabile ride each way, and the snowmobile broke down on the way back. She is one tuff gal.
