Wonder what happened with the landing gear, did he change his mind at the last minute?
Was he afraid it would bleed off too much speed so he waited until the last, but it didn't lock
down? Very sad about the aircraft, but at least fixable.

He had engine problems I believe and had to put it down fast, unfortunately the landing gear didn't lock.
The last RNHF accident I saw at Duxford ended in two fatalties. Not nice to see. :(
