Found it at the local car boot sale for €5
It is a Hotchkiss 37mm shell made by Pinchart Deny, Paris in 1917
I told Elaine I was now looking for a gun for it -----------NOT AMUSED

I have just bought a 1936 dated 3 inch artillery shell case at a local auction. It stands 16 1/2 inches tall and is ideal for standing my cleaning rods in.
Regards
Peter.

I have a piece of Trench Art, not very well made, that is a 3" shell from a Navy deck gun.
But is only a few inches tall. From a 4 year old post..........

After a quick search... the 90mm M19 shell was used for anti-aircraft guns and various tanks.
Your trench art is nicer than mine.........
