Hey, smart people!
Was looking around online and found this.
What do you think the inside threading is for?
I don't think that it is very very very fast rifling.

At a guess, and it is only a guess - could be a sleeved barrel (.303 British sleeved to .22lr) with the sleeve removed or it could be the mount for a lamp

That sounds fine to me. I was stumped.
Thank you, Duncan!

I'm going with the lamp mount..... I once did see a 45/70 Trapdoor that had been converted into a hat rack. It used bent bayonets,,,,,

It's not for the Morris aiming tube if that's what you're referring to Duncan, never seen anything like that threading myself so can't help otherwise Arch.

Not something that I recognize Joe but you got to start somewhere

I'm just glad you guys didn't jump in with an "well it's obviously an XYZ. You don't know anything, Arch!"
It also wouldn't be the only rifle we know about here that has a bore diameter change
I also think that firearm lamp conversions might see a resurgence (for all those that were hoping) with new LED technology.

It could be for a fixture that holds a flag that says 'BANG!'
Either that or a lamp fitting, looks to be about the right thread.
Look to your front, mark your target when it comes.
