The country that avoids war and the country that fights but has a hard time winning have been combined. The Swiss made some excellent firearms and the French made some unique and occasionally inspiring ones. We have added the Belgian and Dutch since they are neighbors.

Apparently a possible double charge and a fracture in the receiver ring plus a slightly oversize cast bullet
It might be Swiss but they still break under the right (wrong) circumstances................

Was the barrel plugged up? Did the shooter get hit by any of the the flying metal?

Don't know him Joe, someone in Canada.
I cannot think the case was double charged, there isn't enough room! I doubt the bullet had anything to do with it either but a possible old fracture in the receiver ring sounds most likely to me. I believe he had a bit of a bloody face.

Cast bullet says reloaded. Who knows what powder was used. The case is big enough to get a pretty hefty load of fast pistol powder. (Think Bullseye or similar.)

Certainly, but I have to say that if this twit was using pistol powder then he deserves a broken rifle, he is now the owner of a lot of spare parts................

Wow!
I saw things about this on a couple of places. The different sites seem to come down to reloader's error.
So we learn from other peoples' mistakes so we don't have to learn from our own.

we have had two accidents like this but with Swedish Mausers in the past.
Load in both issues are Vitav. N 110 double charged and jacketed bullets
no issue reported by fast burnung pistol powder and cast bullets
Greetings from Germany
