You can tell they don't know what they are doing, they spelled chili wrong.....

(Yes, I know the Brits spell it chilli..... but that doesn't make it correct, they also can't spell color...... )

There is a memorial plaque to the Royal Scots at Waterloo that has a reference to the 'King's color' spelt the US way without the 'u' that is included in current British English. I assume this was the spelling that was in use in British service at the time just over 200 years ago.
If I had been Sergeant Major Quick I think I would have found something else to do rather than pick up the colour that the previous four people had been shot down holding. Regards
