Hi Tatty Kite,

welcome to these boards and thanks for the post, I nearly bought that Springfield at the weekend but being unfired it would have been criminal to shoot it and if I had it I would shoot it.

Regarding your No 1 sporter I can't recommend any factory loads as I don't use them but have found a 150 gn Hornady soft point flat base .310" bullet over 31 grains of Reloader 7 in an HXP case does the business on Red Deer, remember to check the data and work up to this load if you choose to use it.

Who did the conversion and any chance of some pictures?

Tatty Kite, A well regarded .303 game round is the Winchester CXP2 or CXP3. The difference is the expansion rate with CXP3 slower for larger game.

Thanks for the tips, if I come across any of that Greek brass I'll try and put a few together. I'll also make sure to buy some Winchester CXP2 next time I'm shopping.

I'll get some shots of it next time I'm out and have the camera, but it's just a Parker Hale conversion.

"...but it's just a Parker Hale conversion."

I suppose that's a tongue-in-cheek remark. This isn't the type of forum that looks down on a rifle that's different from original.
