The Rand Corp and Government view of gun laws

The Rand Corp think tank is financed by the US Government security departments. https://www.rand.org/about/how-we-are-funded.html The Dark state promotes the answers that Rand Corporation spits out. I saw this recent link to Rand think tank notions of what kind of laws help to lesson bad outcomes and what kind of permissible gun issues increase bad outcomes.

Obviously, some answers seem pretty common sense but some have a double possible outcome with a quick glance at the color coded blue/orange distinctions. Only thing is.....the orange increase choices only increase violence.

https://www.rand.org/research/gun-policy.html

Among the things they don't consider:

Mass shooting and news coverage of the shooter. Does news coverage encourage copy cat deranged shooters looking for personal infamy?

Would banning naming the shooter and whatever is known about him by news media decrease the number of people who are looking for belated attention by violent acts or would it make no difference?

Would banning weapons in a country already awash in weapons turn some gun transactions into illegal ones that otherwise had not been a crime ? Wouldn't there still be guns changing hands?

Would banning all further sales of all or most of certain popular types of weapons only increase the value of those that already exist in society? Or do you think the value of a AR15 decrease?

How far should the government go to remove as yet to be banned weapons from society? And how much search power would they have? Warrants? What would be the backlash in the US?

Probably plenty of more questions that would be more worth thinking over.
