Can anyone give some info on this .303 Bandolier. It is marked No.1 Martins- Birmn Ld Makers 1917 and then a large N and 1 and Broad Arrow.
Very similar to the Mounted Infantry bandolier but without the flaps plus it has two large loops on the back - would these take flare cartridges but they are just too small for the standard 26.5mm Verey Pistol cartridge.
I believe this is Royal Navy issue.[/pic]

Nigel the loops at the back may have been to take a oil bottle, as the earlier Martini Henry bandolier had these loops for a pewter oil bottle.
