Team Shooting Postal Match ?

Post by 1886lebel » Tue Feb 13, 2007 11:26 am

I was thinking maybe the next postal match you all have would be a Team match ... pair two shooters together for the total score and compete against other teams. Teams could be formed from different parts of the country or nations.

Hey Joe want to partner together and whip on Adam ?

Patrick, make up the rules when ready. Anybody can propose a match any time, as long as they are willing to judge and administer it.

Partick,

Why not make it a 'Cracks and Duffers'?

Have entrants submit their last couple of scores under the required conditions and then pair off the best score with the worst; second best with second worst etc. as teams, then, average their competition results to give a team score.

Those with no previous score get rated low/bottom.

Just an idea.

Good ideas Patrick and Tom.

Perhaps we could try and have the pairs as international as well, no two from the same country in one team.

Could you be in more than one team perhaps?

Firm the old rules up Patrick and we'll have a crack.

I'm happy to be put up as a duffer, team with me and my scores will guarantee to disappoint.

Any volunteers?

I have not shot in a postal match in a long time ... really long time ... and can not remember my scores ... lol

Anyway lets see what we can come up with for rules and such

Lets say 100 yards for now ... bench, off-hand, prone, sitting ?

10 shots maybe more ?

I will try to come up with more later ... unless someone else has ideas .. post it

Just a word from experience Patrick, if we want maximum participation then keep it simple and easy to shoot.

Also you may want think about just having the scores sent to you rather than posted, and perhaps do it in rounds posting the scores for each round when complete.

KISS ... Keep It Simple Stupid ... I can do that Adam ... lol

Here is the proposal ...

Each Team is composed of two shooters that are not from same state or country ... International pairing highly recommended. Get with the member you would like to pair up with and decide what weapons you want to shoot with. You may form more than one team with different partners.

Firearms must be Milsurp, of course and As Issued Open-Sighted, ammunition maybe be commercial, handloaded or milsurp.

Range: 100 yards

Position: Any you wish

Number of shots: 15 each shooter

Time Frame: March 1, 2007 to May 30, 2007 ... this will give you time to get a shooting partner or partners.

So far so good ... any other ideas ? ... post them

I`m up for it, anyone want a partner? Nothing complicated mind, i`m a firm believer in the KISS principal.

You want to team together Joe ... We can whip Adam and when he loses he can buy you a few GOOD TASTY ENGLISH BEERS ... Of course I would partner up with Adam as well ... he shoots ten times better than I do

Hey Joe. You are one of our best shooters and I can't see out of my right eye yet. I'd partner with you. Of course that would be a bit of a real handicap for you. LOL
