NEF Handi Rifles

Post by Stan in SC » Mon Jun 20, 2005 9:27 pm

I know that AJcarey has an H&R 38-55 Classic target rifle.Does anyone else here have any interest in these excellent single shots?I have four of them. One has two interchangeable barrels.

I have:

.243 Superlight

30-30 and 45/70 standard

.270 standard

45/70 Buffalo Classic

I have found these to be excellent rifles from the standpoint of accuracy, quality of manufacture, value and just plain out fun.I hunt with mine almost exclusively now to the exclusion of my modern rifles. There is just something indefinable about going hunting with a single shot rifle. They are very light and handy to carry but will definitely get the job done. The versatility of having a rifle with multiple caliber barrels and well as the possibility of shotgun barrels is an excellent feature.

I was just curious if anyone else owned and shot NEF Handi rifles.

i recently bought one of the Survivor's in .308 with heavy barrel. found it to be quite accurrate, but thought the extractor was lacking in adequate power. would not extract various surplus Nato rounds, Lake City included.

would probably buy another, maybe in 5.56.

all we can use here in GA. is shotguns and muzzleloaders on turkeys it would be nice to use a rifle for long shots.
