New Sniper Rifle xm110

Post by Niner » Thu Apr 26, 2007 10:41 pm

A friend sent me this link. Seems the US military has decided to go back to a semi-automatic rifle like the M14 for quick follow up shots. Fancier, but same 20 round clip and same nato ammo. Looks like an extra few hundred meters in combat effective range over the M14.

Is it just me or do you see the ghost of the AR10 in there?

Yup. It's the bastard child of the Knight/Stoner SR-25 rifle.

There was a big write up in Small Arms Review of the SASS and an interview with one of the bigwigs at Knight's Armament about the rifle and the selection process a few issues back.
