Hurricane accident

Post by joseyclosey » Sat Sep 15, 2007 2:02 pm

Just heard bad news of a Hawker Hurricane crashing at a airshow in Shoreham, Sussex. Unfortunately the pilot is reported fatally injured.

Sorry to hear that.

Also a sad week at Reno races with three fatalities. One was an L-39 Albatross flown by a fella from Wyoming. :USA:

Thats very bad news John, I have heard no reports on our news services about the Reno accidents. I just read in the New York Times report that the races have been suspended.

The Hurricane pilot was Brian Brown, of The Real Aeroplane Company at Breighton airfield in Yorkshire. My sympathies go to his family and friends.

The aircraft was MK X11, G-HURR, BD707. Formerly based at Breighton as BE417 in night fighter camoflage, but resident at Duxford at the time of the accident.
