Traditional Berlin food

Post by joseyclosey » Sun Dec 23, 2007 3:18 pm

On our recent trip to Berlin our friends parents invited us to a typical Berliners meal in their apartment.

This was Sunday " Mittagessen" before we left for the trip home and consisted of a very simple but very tasty meal of boiled potatoes, smoked pork fillet in a rich gravy and sauerkraut with small pieces of wurst and pork rind mixed in.

Bon appetit :D

Saturday lunch, which i unfortunately did not photograph, consisted of potato soup, and Knackwurst, a type of Frankfurter that makes a cracking sound when bitten. Also extremely tasty .

I must admit to being a big fan of German Cuisine
