What would this have been like in service
TSR2 cancelled by the Defence Secretary Dennis Healy and the Labour government in 1964. I have still not forgiven them for that act of vandalism. I remember it well even though I was only a school kid at the time. We ended up with the F4 Phantom, a fine aircraft, but I would rather have had this.

Quite agree Peter. And the vandalism continues but this time with serving troops. They decide the war and the money to fight it with then the armed forces have to sort it with minimal tools.

The biggest act of vandalism was to order all tooling and drawings destroyed, Why?
I am sure there is a reproduction at Duxford, non flying!

Not a reproroduction, it is XR222 the real deal, and should now be on display in the new Airspace Exhibition Hall.

Presumably on the principle that - If there is no evidence to be found, then the 'crime' never happned and, therefore, there can be no blame attached to their (the vill ^H^H^H^H politician's) memory.24626151 wrote:The biggest act of vandalism was to order all tooling and drawings destroyed, Why?
Yes, I'm cynical - but am I wrong?

XR222 is one of two TSR2,s still extant, the other is at Cosford.
Sorry about the poor quality pics, my digi camera was not equal to the lighting conditions in the museum.
