Bob has wanted one of these since we watched episode 1 of Band of Brothers the first time.

An original was completely out of the question and the repro's have been close to $200

by the time you add in shipping so when this one showed up on the falfiles trader board for $130 delivered I jumped on it.

It is in excellent shape and the handguard in just beautiful.

Any more or less acurate to shoot with a wire stock?

Probably less accurate

I don't consider the M1 Carbine to be that accurate to start with, but consistent head positioning becomes more difficult with the folding stock, so accuracy is likely to drop.

CDD

I love mine

Whats wrong with accuracy for its purpose? It wasn't meant for measuring minute of angle at 100 yards. It's a fine minute of bad guy rifle out that far and some more. It carries a lot of bullets, and is automatic as well as being a light carry.. Athough it was meant as a second line rifle, it had an advantage in rate of fire over k98's at a close range and more than just the airborne used them in the front lines by choice..

I have seen exactly ONE picture of a U.S. soldier holding an M1A1 Carbine. Forget where I saw it, he is standing with his back to the camera watching a column of troops pass.
