I'm new to the mauser world, and looking to pick up a K98. Looking at the different ads in SGN, i see different levels of pricing based on number codes, dot codes, letter codes and so on.
I'm looking for my first german K98 mauser to get my feet wet. What difference is there in the codes etc? My primary desire is to add a German battle rifle to my collection; I would prefer having the wermacht emblems intact. Beyond that, just a good shooter to begin.
Can you point me to where I can find an overview of the different codes?
Thanks in advance.
