The four-shot Vitaly magazine sets the M71/88 apart from the singleshot M1871. The cleaning rod is not a Beaumont original. They are harder to find than hen's teeth.

The truly unique feature of the Dutch Beaumont is the firing pin spring. It is a leaf spring that is housed inside of the bolt handle.
The M71 used 11.3x50R ammo. In 1878, this was changed to 11x52R. In acutal practice, you can use either round in this rifle. You can also use .43 Egyptian. Whichever you use, finding the components to load is not cheap. The brass alone is $60+ for 20 and the dies are $135+. I did find the Beaumont to be among the most accurate of the old BP cartridge rifles that I own.
