Parker-Hale Sight

Post by Flaith » Mon Jun 07, 2004 4:30 am

Have the chance to buy a rather tatty No1 mkIII* ex target rifle, cut down forend, well used heavy barrel butfitted with a really good modern P-H sight with Mk VII sight scale. Would like to know what such a sight is worth in the UK, just so I can get an idea on what to offer? There is no model designation on the sight. It has a multiple apperture. TIA.

Eoin.

P.S. I just bought a No1 MkIII* BSA 1917, all matching numbers although the bolt has been re-numbered but a long time ago. 90%finish on the body and barrel, blueing worn on other bits. Barrel is a sewer pipe and isn't cleaning up. Walnut stock and forend. Has been in Indian service and has modified handguards. About 18 pounds Brit. money at the current rates. So I'm not worried if it doesn't come clean.

Hi Eoin,

I would say £50-£80 but I'm not a great one for gun fairs so some of the others may have a more up to date pricing.

I bought 2 P14 target sights for £20 each recently but that was unusual.

I don't think you get any sort on Enfield here for £18, the prices are just stupid with the main stream dealers and they don't have decent kit even if you could afford it.

I do most of my gun hunting now in provincial gun shops, being doing OK too, but you do need to put the time and travel in.
