The stockwood looks a lot like Queensland maple but doesn't appear hand made, maybe done on a copying lathe.
I'm guessing but the carbine looks to be 1930-ish and I've got serious doubts about the barrel band, apart from that it's in very good condition, shiny and sharp rifling and a tight action. Pity about the chips off the stock.
Any suggestions?
