Sentimental Journey

Post by BOLOMK1 » Mon Jul 04, 2005 1:33 pm

I just returned from a 4th of July outing to the Range and was outside with my dog when I heard a rather distinctive rumble over head.

It was B-17G Sentimental Journey N9323Z which is on tour and in our area.

Those 4 Wright-Cyclone sound beautiful!

She was here in Omaha Saturday (02 Jul 05). I was on my way to the range (I have to pass near Eppley Airfield enroute) and she was doing 'touch-n-goes' at the airport. Beautiful aircraft!

Sentimental Journey

Two B-17 were here in Denver about that time. I was at the Arapahoe County airport on business and heard them. Blew off my schedule and followed my ears. Whole bunch of old war birds on display. As I stood gaping, a Spitfire came in for a landing and taxied up. Made my day.
