I took this photo some years ago at St. Paul`s Holman Airfield, Minnesota I love the paint scheme and i am pretty sure it is still flying in this colour scheme.

It's still hard to imagine how stout the engine in these things must be to get something as big as a P-47 to fly as fast as they did! Always liked the lesson given to P-47 pilots when they get jammed-up in a dogfight....just put her nose down and let gravity take over....nothing will catch her!

"...to fly as fast as they did,,," And how cylinders could be shot off and it'd still fly. 8 .50 BMG's too. That looks like the snout of a P-51 in the back ground. And a Spit on the right.
