91/30PU group portrait

G'day all ... just thought I'd try out the photo attachment procedure and share a picture I took of some Mosin Nagant Sniper Rifles I got together for an article I wrote for an Australian mag.

From the top they are 1944 Iszevsks left and right, 1953 and 1954 M/52 (Hungarian 91/30 PUs) and a 1943 Iszevsk former PU sniper.

Turns out the Hungarians were "prettied up" by the Australian importer with a coat of shiny lacquer, and both stocks have since been stripped and have reverted back to their original matt oiled finish.

The second and third rifle from the top and the one one the bottom are part of my collection.

While I'm at it, I also attached a "before and after" pic of my M/52 ... I did not sand the stock, and the only finish removed was a non-original civilian applied lacquer - I think it looks a lot better!
