Need Help with this...Please!
Sorry if I'm posting this incorrectly. I have posted on other gun forums with hopes that someone can tell me what kind of shotgun I have. I recently acquired this shotgun from my grandfather and knew nothing of it prior. I have been told the action is based on the v. dreyse needle gun. There have been some educated guesses but nothing for sure. I need to sell it and in order to do so I have to find out exactly what it is. Hoping someone on here can help! I have included the link to my pics of the shotgun:

Something about your link isn't working.

I think this link would be more direct.

Really interesting gun. I wish I could help. It's something really totally unordinary to say the least.

At a guess, based upon my wide (even extensive) knowledge of firearms*I'd say that it is a Dreyse system double 12 gauge needle gun.
Note that the barrels move forward for loading and that the breech faces fit into the back of the chambers against the cartridge rims to effect a seal. There are not many of this type of gun around as there weren't that many made in the first place and certainly not of this quality. I've seen a couple of single shotguns converted from former military rifles and using normal c/f shot shells.
Is there a name on the gun?
* and a Google or two

While I appreciate your opinion, the shotgun is only based on v. dreyses' needle fire but I'm pretty sure he wasn't the gunsmith. The initials 'CFW' are under the tubes. It was also determined to be 20 gauge.

I said systemDreyse although it could well have been made by him as he moved to making sporting guns after his system became obsolete for military firearms due to rapid progress in arms making. If you screw out the breech faces you may find that there are waxed/greased leather seals for the 'needles'.
Are there no other markings than the stamped initials?
Anyway it's a very nice gun and ought to fetch a good price.

Here is my problem...I NEED to sell it. I was layed off from work a few months ago and our family needs the money. I am posting on all these forums so someone can tell me what my shotgun is worth. I've looked everywhere to find something close that sold but haven't found anything. What kind of a price would you put on it?
Re: Need Help with this...Please!
I think I'd contact some of the high dollar gun auction houses. You can find some by a google search. I wouldn't just guess a number and put it on gunbroker. There are some pretty exclusive auction houses. This gun would be a fit for one of them I'd think. And they would attract the kind of buyer that would pay the kind of money it could be worth. And I don't know one auction house from another but some research would probably be in order.

Pity that you have to sell it, but I can sympathize, been down that track myself.
Have a look at:

You'll have to join the site to get the price.
