Ishy 2A Frankenstein
Hello all,
I'm new to this board and pretty new to enfields. I collect MKIIIs' and do WWI reanacting. Here is my dilema, 303 blanks are getting toooo expensive and 308 is cheap. I turned a 2A into a WWI MKIII even the clip. Am I being uncaring?

Cheap is good.
If the guys you re-enact with don't care that the 2A didn't come around until the early 1960's why worry?

There aren't many 2A's and 2A1's around
That's the reason for the value increase. Some had been butchered for sporters by various companies too, like Navy Arms for one.
According to Lt. Col.Edwards in one article he wrote, there were only 125,000 2A's and 275,000 2A1's ever made. I know that sounds like a lot, but those destroyed, modified, in collections, still in third world countries.. makes the available to collect numbers relatively slim.
