1927 Tikka M91 "stepped" barrel

Today I glommed a Finn Tikka M91 dated 1927 that has a "stepped" barrel.

Auction description was :
This rare and desirable ex-Soviet Finnish captured and rebuilt WWI era hexagon receiver 1891 Mosin-Nagant Bolt Action Rifle was rebuilt by Tikka with the heavy stepped barrel in 1927. It is a 5 shot 7.62x54r caliber rifle with force-matched bolt; Finnish stock, SA proofs and is complete with cleaning rod and sling. Import marked, condition is good, with a very good bore.

I checked at the 7.62x54Rnet "relative rarity" web page and it does seem to be high on the rarity scale.

That is some fine rifle you bought there.
I suppose you already have it at home.
I'd love to see some additional pictures if you have any.

The Tikka M91 with the stepped barrel is still on my wish list.
I did find a Mosin Nagant M24 some time ago in a German gun shop.
It also has the stepped barrel.
Here are some pictures.




The barrel is manufactured by Bohler Stahl.
The barrel is undated, but the rifle is built on a 1895 Tula receiver.







I didn't find the rifle in the best spot.
Lots of moisture there.
I had to take it apart(as I do with all my rifles) and clean it thoroughly.





The dealer didn't know what he had in that corner.
I sure did.
