Smle or K 31

OK Guys,

I have my Mosin, and my Swedish Mauser. Love them both...... good shooters with big smile factors! I'm an informal target shooter with a love of history. So what's next. The local gun shop has a nice smle (not matching, but in nice condition), but I've always wanted a Swiss K 31. What do you think? What should I consider next? Which is most likely to climb in price over the next several years? (I care less about collectible value and more on my ability to buy if the price climbs.)

All thoughts welcome!

Can't comment as I don't know the way the US market ticks but I would go for an Enfield first as the other is just a gun

Get the K31. The sources will dry up quicker than Enfields. The K31 is a great target shooter too...it's just that the ammo is a bit pricey. All milsurps are likely to climb in price as time moves on...but the K31 should climb faster in value and be hard to find a lot sooner.

Go and get bit by the Swiss bug. You'll love them. First the K31, then maybe a 1911, or a K11, or a 96/11 or ...

SMLE, preferably a NoI Mk III with volley sights, piling swivel and magazine cut off, i am a bit biased though.

I am even handed as I have both already. I bought the SMLE before I bought the K31. The SMLE was the first centre fire rifle I bought and I still have it twenty odd years later. If the funds allow, buy both. You won't regret it.

If it helps i had a K31 too but sold it to finance another Enfield.

K31 was a cracking rifle mind, extremely accurate with GP11. I do still have a SR 96/11 which i shoot exclusively with cast boolits.

You pays your money and makes your choice apbear.
