Where to find parts?

Post by OsageOrange » Wed Dec 29, 2010 11:28 pm

A friend just bought a Mauser 98 rifle that is missing the floor plate and magazine spring and follower. He is bringing the rifle over this weekend and I am going to show him how to clean etc. He is from Peru and has never owned and rifle before. I have 4 rifles build on M98 actions. I believe his rifle is of the 24/47 series. Will know more this weekend. Live in the Denver, CO area. Thanks in advance for any help you can give. The Tanner Gun show is going to be in Denver the last part of January and I told him we could look to see what was available.

Welcome to the site OsageOrange. There should be a number of sources out there with the right parts. One place I've bought from in the past is Springfield Sporters. They used to be a big importer and retailer of old military surplus arms. But now days they are limited to parts. They have a website. Here is a link to their Mauser parts list.

Look around on the net for other places. Gun Parts has all sorts of surplus parts. There are others with a mixture of reputations for reliability.
