After the recent mass shooting ...and killing....in Tucson, and ghastly head shot nearly killing of a Congresswoman, all the talking heads are saying all sorts of things and pointing fingers at all sorts of real and imagined dangers and saying all kinds of crazy things. All sorts of quick fixes proposed in the form of new laws....banning pistol magazines that hold over so many rounds, laws to make it a crime to get within a 1000 feet of some political figure if you have a gun on your person and somebody in law enforcement actually realizes it. The paranoid feelings rise to the surface in many otherwise intelligent people and they feel moved to build and spread the fear. Here is an example of fear for the sake of fear itself.

Re: Tucson violence and reaction
In Australia the Greens have jumped on the bandwagon with a renewall of their call for a ban on all semi-automatic pistols and with nary a word of sympathy for the victims.

The anti-gun crazies are really coming out of the woodwork here in Tucson.
