Tennessee Military Collectors summer military shoot

Post by broke collector » Tue Jul 19, 2005 7:04 pm

The TMCA will have its first military shoot on July 30th. The specific info on location is on our web-site tmcaonline. If you are in this area we would love to have you attend. Will fire from Martini-Henrys,sub guns, bolt rifles,semi-autos, handguns,a Sharps or two, and will have a good safe shoot at 50 yards for us old coots so we can see. No glass sights allowed. We are most interested in the firing of different weapons and fellowship at this point but will have prizes for best bolt score, best semi-auto score, best handgun score, best antique score. If there are enough we will have a carbine match. The main thing is to have fun. We will get more serious in a time or two with experience. The range is supervised by the TWRA. B.C.

TMCA shoot 30 July 05

Post by broke collector » Fri Aug 05, 2005 3:55 pm

The shoot turned out well with 25 odd shooters and much hardware. The Gatling was fired with live ammo, a Bren gun, a BAR, Thompson, Reising, Sten, MP-40s, Red 9 Mauser, P-38, Luger, 1911, 1917 Colt and S&W, FN-49, M-1 Garand, M-1 Carbine, 03 and 03A3 Springfields, Long Lee-Speed Target .303, Mosin Nagant, Sharps carbine, Trap door Springfield rifle and carbine, Martini-Henry, 9mm kurtz MAC, M-2 Carbine, and I probably am forgetting something. A great time was had by all and talk of the next one is going on as I type. Our range (TWRA range at Percy Priest Lake near Nashville) was hosted by their very helpful personell. This being our first shoot, we will have to organize the matches better to make better use of our and the range safety officers time. This can be worked out and they did ask us to return. B.C.
