Carrying a weapon is a very serious responsibility and not to be taken lightly.

This is the reason that I carry my Taurus PT-145 on my right hip in such a manor that in nearly all situations the muzzle is pointed at the ground.

I was in the theatre one time watching a Harry Potter movie when I noticed the guy directly in front of me continually fidgiting with what I finally determined was some sort of horizontal shoulder rig under a light jacket that did not hide it very well. It took me about 2 seconds to decide that we needed to move to the other end of the row and out of the line of fire. Sort of unnerving when you think about it.
