No, no ,no, no, no. It's just wrong.
Sausages are made out of beef, not pork.
Or even Kanga bangas at a pinch.

My favorite kind of sausage is made out of pork. Just cut into bun size lengths, grill over a charcoal fire, place in a bun, top with onions and chopped peppers fried in olive oil, and add mustard.
I like to start with hickory smoked pork sausage made by this company.

A lot of beef hot dogs are eaten in the US. And.. all beef hot dogs are considered premium, although a matter of taste.....or religion. And most of the hot dog sausage you get in the US now days has a lot of chicken and turkey in it as well as pork and beef. But it is best not to look too closely at what's in the cheapest weiners. But....what I think Joe is talking about is dinner grade sausage and something entirely higher on the hog, so to speak.

Nice one Vern
Incidentally my favourite sausage is pork and apple, and a kanga banga just sounds soooo wrong Graeme.

Are the "ticks" a necessary part of the recipe? I normally do my best to avoid them.

Tsk, harumph rattles Daily Telegraph and mumbles about sending our worst out in the convict transports!
Honestly the best bangers are a mixture. I make mine with venison and belly pork.
