Anybody tired of repro Chargers ("stripper clips")?
AIM is advertising Russian 7.62x54R on chargers, 60 clips and 300 rounds for $69.95. The chargers look like the Bulgarian early post war chargers that came in some years ago:

These have to be better than the recent cheap Chinese copies.

Man.....every now and then I wish I were a US citizen.
I can buy that type of ammo here too, only the price is different (more expensive) and the ammo is offered without the clips.
I reload my Mosin Nagant ammo and had to look for clips on the Internet and at gun shows in Germany.
Here's a picture of a Chinese clip with ammo and a couple of Russian and Finnish clips I found on the Internet and at a German gun show.
Met vriendelijke groet,
Martin

I have not shot my Nagant in a age I guess its time to give it a outing.

No telling how many stripper clips I've tossed out over the years. I should have realized they had some value. I always figured there would be more of them with the next batch of ammo....but I was wrong.

Those brass looking Chinese chargers are pretty much useless. The only ones that I have that actually work are some that I bought from TN Gunparts 7 or 8 years ago. I haven't seen any for sale in chargers for quite a few years.

Re: Anybody tired of repro Chargers ("stripper clips")?
Hello,
I have some of the ones Kermit ended up with, and can vouch for them. I did some mods to make the Mosin feed from them about as well as a Mauser, too. Just fitting of parts; no real mods I guess.
The Chinese ones can be made to work if you have a fireplace. Just cook them in coals for the day and quench them in water. Problem is they're still sharp, just not quite as flimsy.
I use the Chinese ones to hold empty shells now, so that I can anneal five at a time for handloading!
Regards,
Josh
