1917 SSA Peddled Scheme

I think I have a new favorite. The Standard Small Arms (SSA) has matching numbers on the bolt, nose cap and stock and has the original SN on the buttstock. I believe this rifle was issued to the 3d Military District in Victoria when new or near new. As far as I can tell, it's all original with no import marks. The Bore is bright and shows a little wear and the wood is all solid with very few dings and no chips or cracks. The forestock looks to have been replaced with Coachwood. This piece was well cared for and came with a sling(repo) and oiler.
I stumbled onto this gem while surfing and could hardly believe the price of $300 and is in fact a real Peddled Scheme. It was sent to Australia in payback for the rifles Aus sent to GB at the outbreak of WWI. I am the luckiest gun kook in the world! Regards, Rick.
