Springfield Rear Sight Loose

Post by HK_USP_45 » Sat Dec 08, 2012 1:48 pm

Hi,

I have a S-C A3. The rear sight moves back and forth (the whole sight block, in the dovetail groove). Since this causes some pretty inconsistent accuracy, I don't shoot it as much as I'd like. What is the best way to secure the sight block so it doesn't move left and right?

Thanks for the help.

I had the same problem with an M1 carbine and used a strip of aluminum can under the sight at the bottom of the dovetail on the receiver to tighten it up. If a strip of can is too thick try a layer or 2 of foil.
