43 Izhevsk PU sniper w/ Kossuth Crest

Post by Miller Tyme » Tue Jan 15, 2013 10:01 pm

Attended the OGCA show this past September and came across this PU sniper for sale. I had forgot my reading glasses but could tell it was all stamped matching rifle, and though the scope number didn't match it was the correct 1943 PU scope, and no import marking that I could see( even blind they are hard to miss ;) ). After a little haggling with its owner I bought it and went to the marina for the weekend, only after arriving at the boat and getting my glasses on did I find this.............the Kossuth crest.

The rifle is all stamped matching and all Izhevsk marked parts, this rifle appears to have gone through an arsenal inspection in 1950 since the scope documentation and the sling are both dated 1950.

In the 3rd pic there some real light lettering on the stock that I have yet to fully figure out.

Inside the scope cover was arsenal /25\ inspection document for the scope dated 1950

All matching, Kossuth crest, scopenumber on the barrel, a scope inspection document and an original Tokarev SVT-40 PU scope.
That's not a nice or very nice find.........that's a FANTASTIC find.

Congratulations MT and thank you for sharing the pictures.

Met vriendelijke groet,

Martin
