HELLO

They were from very nice to beat up. The Finnish Civil Guard units used these rifles and like them a lot. They even has some rebarrelled by SIG in 7.62x54R. I also saw a bunch of that Jap surplus ammo over there too.

Nice Find

Surplus ammo

Post by PeterN2 » Mon Nov 20, 2006 6:22 pm

I have shot a few of the round nose and pointed bullet catridges. Some were hangfires and a few got split necks. I will keep the rest of my stock as collectable stuff. I presume the Finnish ammo will be in a similar state.

I would like a better condition Type 38 long rifle than the one I have, but they don't seem to be for sale in the UK.

Regards

Peter.

Condition of Jap rifles

The ones I saw in Finland were anywhere from good to like new. In fact the best looking Jap rifles I ever saw were in Finland.
