I have very rerely come across a Martini Enfield and there seem to be alot of them that are not exactly what they should be.

I would point out that the proof marks on the knox form ARE civilian proof marks for Birmingham. A military one would be BM. It also lacks marks to the receiver, and doesn't look scrubbed, so I'd say its a BSA civilian model. However, other than that it looks as good as can be gauged from pictures, and civilian ones often had the advantage of not being given to Squaddies.
$600 doesn't sound too bad, especially as getting one in from the UK would be difficult I imagine.
