I can tell you the ones here almost all came from Canada - who got these from Poland. How these ended up there is beyond me but I do know at least some did. I saw a few crates of these in Bulgaria as well back about 5 years ago.

What way those rifles went, after they left Egypt, is nearly impossoble to tell.

First hint came from an ex.NVA officer, who told me, those M44 were used by the KVP(Kasernierte Volkspolizei, forrunner of the NVA) and than reworked at Suhl weapons plant and stored.

Later they went as aid to Eygypt, brother socialist state back than.

I let check this by a fiend, who still works for the police.

Lot of junk, high prices

Did buy the KP31 and some drums for it, a book on M95 Nagant revolver, spoke to some fiends.

Not sure, if I will be there next year...........

Well, I came back late Friday evening from Kassel, Germany.

I had a fantastic day.

We drove off at 7 AM and arrived at 10 am in Kassel.

I started looking for some things to add to my collection.

That's the small stuff I mean, like clips, oil bottles and that sort of things.

My gun budget is dry for the rest of this year.

The highlight of the day was me meeting Karl-Heinz Wrobel, writer of two fantastic books on the Mosin Nagant rifles and carbines.

We talked for about half an hour and had lunch.

Then he showed me some things he had found(but hadn't bought)

A very nice looking Dragoon rifle for €250($365) and an original M39 bayonet for €350($510).

To much for my budget too, but very nice to look at.

After about an hour and a half we each went our way.

He did sign both the books he wrote that I had brought along.

IMHO Mr. Wrobel is a very nice gentlemen.

It was an honor meeting him.

Now.....some pictures of the gun show.

Besides the fact that I'm not very well at taking pictures my camera also died after 8 pictures due to empty batteries.

Took no spares along.

Wish they had more of these shows.......and I had a bigger budget.

Now that is a well attended gun show. Looks like the merchandise display is better done than at local gun shows in the US that I've attended....the racks on the wall and the overhead displays and glass vertical pistol cases, show that the venders took some time setting up.

I guess with your battery failure you missed the one shot I'd have thought you would have gotten for sure.....you and Karl-Heinz Wrobel together. Oh well, maybe next time.

You got that right Robert.

Maybe I will get another chance for a picture of me with Mr. Wrobel.

You are also right about the vendors taking the time to set things up.

Many of the displays looked fantastic.

There were also some displays that looked less beautiful.

Funny thing is that these were the ones where I found my Mosin Nagant clips and oilers.
