AND THE ANSWER IS.........

Post by DuncaninFrance » Mon Oct 01, 2007 1:26 pm

.....Page 142 of the current Frankonia catalogue.

Front sight - triangular for K98 - 9mm high - 15.50€ + 7.90€ carriage ( robbing bastards ) I might also get some charging clips - 10 for 6.90€

Almost complete - just need a cleaning rod and perhaps a bayonet..........................oh and a set of ammo pouches............oh yes and a muzzle cover...............DON'T TELL THE WIFE

Post by DuncaninFrance » Wed Dec 05, 2007 5:47 pm

Have now changed the foresight for a taller one and been able to zero the rifle today.

Sight picture is a VAST improvement - all I need is a 200 mtr target at 200 mtrs and I think I have cracked it!!

Pretty good Duncan. You should also get one of the original cleaning kits for the K98 while you're getting the other stuff. LOL more money!!!!

Had to look twice at the targets

The 50 meter notation had me confused for a minute between which were 50 meter distance and which were 200 meter. But my mistake, your post is clear enough.

Looks like the new front sight is what you needed. Good shooting.

Duncan, just a thought. there are a lot of post war K98 cleaning kits on the market at the minute, the tobacco tin looks much like the war time manufactured ones. You need to be careful when buying one, it would be nicer having an original.
