Martin, you make good points and I'm not going to disagree one bit. What the Finns did is take an already great rifle and make it suitable to their requirements......to wit: they made the rifle more rugged, impervious to the harsh climate, added a semi pistol grip (handy when one has mittens on in Winter) added barrels of extreme high quality which produced their desired result.....a great, accurate all climate war rifle. It's almost staggering to figure how a tiny little country was able to produce these fine rifles. Simply stated, I believe they are in a class of their own and that is to take nothing away from the the basic rifle which has such a storied history and many rare examples as you mentioned. That is one of the reasons I love this hobby, Regards, Rick.
