M91's

Post by Miller Tyme » Sun Mar 23, 2014 4:28 pm

Doing a little spring cleaning on my collection and decided it was a good time to get some pics of my M91’s. All but one is a Finn, and even though I am not a big Finn collector I keep finding my collection of Finn’s growing. I have to say the fact that most of them only got a light refurbishment ( if any) before they where issued out does make them very appealing.

Nice collection. NEW and Remington. Looks like one with both the English contract mark and the German property mark. Bet that rifle had quite a history....if we could only know it.

Thanks Robert, the 05 has the Izhevsk Cartouche & 2 German Deutsches Reich stamps on the stock, the 42 Tikka has a German Deutsches Reich stamp on the stock and the Austrian "Artillerie Zeugs Fabrik" arsenal stamp on it. The N.E.W. still has its "English Contract" stamp on it's stock but it is well worn.

The 42 also has a wooden crossbolt in the stock that was redrilled to take the newer steel crossbolt, you can see it in both pic's of the crossbolt.
