Re: BSA Martini

Is it a 12/15? It's pretty common (here at any rate) to find them with that handstop with the threaded hole bar underneath. Not much use with modern slings as it's usually too far forward. There appears to be an eyebolt at the back of the forend for the two-point sling - again normal with these ones...

Re: EY stamp

I don't see EY anywhere, although your pictures are so poorly lit it's hard to tell.

The Germans mounted a considerable propaganda campaign to this effect in America, to counter the allegations of "Frightfulness" (schrecklichkeit) which the Allies had made. Learned professors were wheeled on to show the hole in the cut-off had no other purpose, etc.

Those pics are useful, and some others I've found, but more of the frog (maybe with a ruler alongside it for scale) would be useful.

Ross bayonet scabbard

Can anyone supply, or point to, some high quality pictures of the Ross scabbard, in particular the integral frog which is missing from my example. I intend to have my man make one up to complete it.

RG bought a batch of cases from Hirtenberger (they have that typical yellow brass appearance of Hirtenberger stuff) marked with their own code. This sort of thing is not uncommon in ammo companies.
